A full washing range on one gentle base
"Hypoallergenic" and "sensitive skin" are the fastest-growing positions in dog shampoo — and the mid-premium natural tier is where private label wins. Aimo builds each wash on a mild, sulfate-free base and layers in oatmeal, aloe or a tearless system to match your brief, then returns a sample with an indicative landed cost.
A range, not a single wash. Sensitive-skin, puppy and white-coat owners each want something specific — which is why a small family of washes on one gentle base out-sells a lone "dog shampoo." We help you choose the two or three to launch first and match each to your fragrance, size and closure, plus add-ons like a standalone conditioner or a cat-safe variant.

We build each wash for a dog's coat and skin — by coat type, color and skin condition (show-dog volumizing, wiry-coat, super-moisturizing low-sensitivity) — so a small family of purpose-built washes out-performs a single generic "dog shampoo." Spec-matched to your brand, non-medicated, and retail-ready.

A 140-unit minimum and a 3,000-unit minimum are not the same product — the low figure is a stock formula in a stock bottle with your label on it, while 3,000 buys a compounding batch matched to a product you already sell, filled on a dedicated run. |

Dog shampoo is the most crowded category in pet contract manufacturing — here is how to shop it
We would rather help you buy well than pretend there is no competition. In August 2026, running the sourcing search a buyer would run, we counted more than a dozen contract manufacturers publishing private-label dog shampoo, with published minimums spanning roughly 500 to 5,000 units per SKU: Epilab in Australia from about 500 units per SKU, Zeralabs in China at about 1,000, TY Cosmetic in China from about 2,000, Duntek Pet in China at about 2,000 per formula with a separate 10,000-piece bottle minimum, PurusPet in the US at about 5,000, Biocrown in Taiwan at about 5,000, plus Tropical Products, Glo-Marr, SynergyLabs, Natural Pet Innovations and Cassco Bio Labs in the US, Bo International and Cosmico in India, and Petra Lab-X in Canada.
If your brief is "a decent oatmeal shampoo, a few hundred units, close to my market", one of those will beat us — the minimums are lower and the freight is shorter. That is a real answer, not false modesty. What follows is the narrower set of cases where we are the better call.
1 — When the range has to be built by coat, not by fragrance
Most private-label shampoo ranges are one base with different scents and colours. Ours are specified the way a groomer thinks: 11 published builds across coat type, coat colour and skin condition — oatmeal hypoallergenic, tearless puppy, show-dog volumising, brightening for white and light coats, super-moisturising for low-sensitivity skin, wiry and hard-coat, de-shedding, 2-in-1 wash and conditioner, standalone conditioner, cat shampoo, and waterless no-rinse. A wiry terrier coat and a double-coated retriever want opposite things from a surfactant system; a fragrance change does not address that.
2 — When the shampoo is half of a set, not a standalone
This is the structural point. A bath-day set is a shampoo and a wipe, and in this industry those are made by two different kinds of factory: a cosmetic filling line and a nonwoven converting line. Aimo's group runs both, so shampoo, ear cleaner and the matching wipes are developed together, quoted on one cost sheet and shipped on one timeline instead of being split across two suppliers with two lead times and two artwork cycles.
3 — When the back bar and the retail bottle must match
For a grooming salon, the retail bottle only sells because the client watched the groomer use it. That only holds if the gallon and the 8oz come from the same compounded batch — which is how we fill them. See the groomer & salon channel for how that line is built.
Specification, in numbers
| Range | 11 published builds by coat type, coat colour and skin condition — not one base with eleven fragrances. |
|---|---|
| Sizes | 8oz / 16oz retail · 1 US gallon (3.78 L) back-bar, filled from the same batch as the retail bottle |
| Base chemistry | Sulfate-free, pH-balanced for canine skin — dog skin sits near pH 7, human skin nearer pH 5.5, which is why a rebadged human base is the wrong starting point. Fragrance-free option on every build. |
| Non-medicated by design | No chlorhexidine, no ketoconazole, no hydrocortisone, no pesticidal actives — and no antibacterial, antifungal or flea-and-tick wording on the label. That keeps the line in the cosmetic lane in the US, UK, EU, Australia and Canada. |
| MOQ | From ~3,000 units per SKU, trial-friendly first runs Worth comparing carefully: published minimums in this category run from about 500 to about 5,000 units. A 500-unit minimum and a 3,000-unit minimum are frequently not the same product — the low figure is often a stock formula in a stock bottle with your label on it, while 3,000 buys a compounding batch matched to a product you already sell, filled on a dedicated run. Ask every supplier the same question: is the formula stock, adapted, or matched to my sample? |
